Frequently asked questions
Working with Orma
- Who is Orma Finance for?
- Management companies, their funds and SPVs, in France and Luxembourg, in venture capital, private equity and club deals. Especially teams that want to structure their finance function without oversizing it.
- How can Orma work with us?
- Through three levers that combine: advisory, as a part-time CFO or on a one-off assignment; recruitment for the finance function; and tools to automate the processes specific to funds.
- How does an assignment start?
- With a first conversation about your needs, your organisation and your timing. Orma then proposes a suitable scope and format.
- How is an assignment priced?
- According to the scope, format and length of the work. You receive a proposal after the first conversation.
- Does shared information stay confidential?
- Yes. Data about the management company, its funds and its investors is handled confidentially and used only for the assignment.
Advisory
- What is an outsourced finance function?
- Entrusting all or part of the finance function to an outside professional who works alongside your team: steering, fund operations, reporting, compliance. It takes the form of a part-time CFO or a one-off assignment.
- Which areas does Orma cover?
- Fund operations, financial and strategic steering, portfolio and valuation, investor reporting, governance and compliance.
- Does Orma work with our existing providers?
- Yes. Orma oversees your depositaries, statutory auditors, valuers, banks and accountants and checks their deliverables, without taking their place.
Recruitment
- Which roles does Orma recruit for?
- The roles in a management company’s finance function: CFO, Head of Fund Operations, financial controller, middle-office manager, compliance officer (RCCI), investor relations & reporting.
- Can an advisory assignment come before a hire?
- Yes. A part-time CFO structures the function, then a new hire takes over. Orma’s three levers combine at the firm’s pace.
Platform
- What is the Orma platform?
- Tools that automate the processes specific to the finance function of funds, such as investor KYC or capital calls. They are built assignment by assignment, close to the work.
- Do we have to give up our current tools?
- No. The approach starts by optimising what you have; bespoke tools complement what already works.
